Halifax Water RDC's Update

Writer: UDI Nova ScotiaUDI Nova Scotia

UDI is partnering with Halifax Water to defer the Regional Development Charges (RDCs). These charges are related to water and sewer services.  UDI is not asking that these fees be waived.  We are simply asking that the fees be collected when the water meter is installed, not when the permit process begins.  This deferral will eliminate the need for carrying charges which would be incurred by applicants. These additional charges are always passed on to the renters/purchasers.   A deferral of the charges will result in lower costs to the end users.
